Mystery disease
KHOTANG: Seventy students of the Bulapanthe High School in the district have been suffering from a mysterious disease. The sick pupils are complaining of severe headache, sore throats and diarrhoea. The annual examination of the school has been affected. The students are undergoing treatment at a local health post, Khambaraj Rai, a teacher said.
Transportation bandh
DAILEKH: Protesting assault on transportation workers by an unidentified group of persons on Tuesday night, Nepal Transportation Workers’ Union’s district chapter has called for a three-day transportation bandh in the district. An unidentified gang had vandalised three buses at a bus park and assaulted three transportation workers on Tuesday. Owing to the bandh, vehicles stayed off the roads in the Dailekh-Surkhet section of the Karnali Highway on Wednesday.
Karnali mishap toll 33
DAILEKH: The bodies of two more persons, missing in the Karnali river following a road mishap on the Karnali Highway last Thursday, were found on Tuesday evening. The toll in the accident has gone up to 33 now. According to the District Police Office, the bodies of Devisara Shah, 42, of Tikapur Municipality-9, Kailali and 2-year-old Shirijana Neupane of Dhaulagaha-7 were found. A rescue team found the bodies at the Bheltadi area which is 8 km down the accident area. Five more people are still missing, police added.
