‘NCP must purge itself of impurities’
Siraha, October 21
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal today said it was high time that the party purged itself of impurities.
“As impurities have accrued in the party over the years, it’s high time we cleaned them out. Otherwise the impurities will start polluting the entire party,” said senior leader Nepal, speaking at a Dashain-Tihar-Chhath greetings exchange programme in Lahan today.
On the differences of ideas and opinions in the party, the ruling party leader said intra-party differences and disagreements were normal, but emphasized that they should be sorted out amicably within the party itself.
Further, underscoring the need to finalise the remaining tasks of party unity at the earliest, the communist leader also spoke of the challenge of keeping people’s faith in his party alive. “Till now people still have huge trust in us, so in order to keep this trust alive, we must visit people’s homes, learn about their feelings and aspirations and act accordingly,” he opined.
“As it’s incumbent upon us to make this country prosperous and accomplish the much-sought social change, we need to move ahead united by understanding people’s feelings and aspirations,” he said. The greetings exchange programme saw the participation of several prominent local leaders as well as cadres.
