NDF seeks conducive environment for polls

Kathmandu, May 29

Nepal Democratic Forum led by Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, today issued a press release urging the government to create conducive environment for the second phase of local polls to ensure participation of Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal as well as all the other forces.

The NDF urged the government and the major political parties to amend laws related to the election so as to ensure the participation of the RJP-N in the upcoming second phase elections.

The release sought immediate withdraw of all the false charges that were slapped against the cadres of the agitating forces and urged to the government to immediately disburse the compensation amount to the victims of violence in the Tikapur incident.

The NDF also demanded that the government immediately act to vacate the Supreme Court’s order that stayed the government’s decision to increase the number of local levels in the Tarai-Madhes region.
