Nepal Dental Association (NDA) has celebrated World Oral Health Day on Sunday, March 20 by organising multiple activities including competition, contest, rallies, among others.

NDA is one of the members of FDI World Dental Federation that initiated March 20 as World Oral Health Day.

Over 130 countries consider March 20 as world oral health day on which people are made aware about oral health and provided necessary information about the same.

On the occasion, the central committee and 12 other branches of the association successfully conducted activities to share knowledge and awareness, shared Dr Suvit Maskey, Chair of NDA.

The list of activities include:

- Organised Anti Quackery Video Competition to raise awareness against Quackery through social media,

- Organised futsal contest to develop internal bonding among students of dentistry, dentists and other professionals in Kathmandu,

- Rally to raise awareness in Dharan, Janakpur, Chitwan and Rupandehi,

- Free Dental Counseling Camp in Morang, Dharan, Rupandehi (along with free dental services and food distribution to patients of Nepal Apanga Ashram, and distribution of toothpaste, brush and mouthwash to police officers of Province 1), Janakpur, Chitwan and Banke,

- Dental Quiz Competition for school students of Banke, and dental health awareness programme in Bardibas ad Hetauda,

- Dental Photo Exhibition, e-poster competition, face and hand painting for children in Dharan,

- Blood donation programme in Rupandehi,

- Meeting related to dental heath in Dhangadhi and Pokhara, and

- Discount in treatment to patients coming for dental checkup in various dental college, hospital and clinic on the occasion.
