Nepal for homework before more talks
Nepalgunj, June 26 :
CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal said today the next rounds of talks between the government and the Maoists should be held after thorough homework. The first round of talks and the agreement were criticised widely, and so, homework is essential, he said.
Inaugurating the training of the Bheri zone-based CPN-UML activists in Nepalgunj, Nepal said: “The talks were held without homework, so the process was protested widely. We don’t have to repeat such mistakes.”
“The seven parties and the Maoists are not fully convinced about each other yet. This misunderstanding should end,” Nepal said.
Pointing to the Maoists, Nepal said: “Maoists used to criticize Madan Bhandari and multi-party Janabad in the past. But, they have begun to praise them (Madan Bhandari and multi-party Janabad) now. It’s a positive matter for our party. But, I don’t think their intentions are good.”
He also said that the Maoists’ behaviour still has not changed. “A positive talk was held with Prachanda and Baburam yesterday in Kathmandu. But I am feeling sad after hearing that the people of Rajapur are still suffering at the hands of the Maoists.”
The seven-party alliance will not split under any circumstance, said Nepal, adding that the CPN-UML was in favour of a peaceful stir to achieve a republic.
