WASHINGTON D.C., JUNE 28

This year marks the 75th year of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the United States of America.

David Ashley, an American citizen who scaled Mount Everest on May 13 this year, said more travel should take place between Nepal and the United States to improve the people-to-people relationship between the two countries.

A retired US Air Force Colonel, Ashley scaled Mount Everest on May 13 this year, becoming the first living kidney donor to climb the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. "There is so much unspoiled natural beauty in Nepal," he said while reflecting on his travel experiences in Nepal for more than two weeks.

"As we learn to live with COVID-19 through vaccines and other protective measures, increasing the number of Americans to see Nepal in person is key," he added.
