Nepal participates in Embassy Festival 2017 in the Netherlands
KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in Brussels participated in the fifth annual 'Embassy Festival 2017 organised in The Hague, the Netherlands recently.
The festival was jointly organised by The Life I Live By, an organisation based in The Hague, the Municipality of The Hague's Department of International Affairs, the Embassy of Nepal, Brussels stated in a press release.
In the festival, Nepal participated in all three segments — Embassy Pavilion, international market and creative arena. The Embassy showcased at the pavilion some typical Nepali handicrafts, both edible and inedible products and items portraying Nepal's artistic, cultural and religious diversity.
Nepali exportable products such as woolen items, Nepali tea and coffee, and carpet were also displayed. Tourism promotional materials including CDs, banners, placards, posters and flyers were also displayed and distributed at the pavilion. Local Nepali entrepreneurs maintained six market stalls and separate food stall with a view to promoting typical Nepali items, the press release states.
During the festival, Nepali artists living in the Netherlands also presented their excellent performances at the creative arena of the festival.
It is stated that thousands of people visited the carnival to observe and experience a 'global show' of culture, music, art and food. Fifty-one countries participated in the Festival this year.
