PM Oli says democracy not a reinless horse, urges Madhesi parties to come for talks

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday urged the agitating Madhesi parties to come to the table for meaningful talks.

In a live televised address to the nation on the eve of Nepal's New Year 2073, Prime Minister Oli asked the agitating side to shelve excuses saying dialogue can resolve all issues.

"Democracy cannot be a horse without reins. As there are different dimensions of democracy, anarchy can't be accepted," he said.

In his 49-minute address speech, Prime Minister Oli maintained that the Constitution, which was issued as per the people's demand, can be amended following due process if there was dissatisfaction over it.
