'Serial rapist and murderer' paraded in Rautahat
RAUTAHAT: Nepal Police paraded an alleged serial rapist and murderer at the Rautahat District Police Office in Gaur on Friday.
Police said the suspect, Balkishor Chaurasiya (28) of Katahariya-1 in Rautahat, has confessed to preying on at least three minor girls and murdering them.
According to police, Chaurasiya furtively had sneaked into the victims' houses in Maryadapur and Shivanagar, kidnapped the fast asleep girls, broken their limbs, raped them, and thrown them to river or canal to kill.
The victims were aged four-, six- and seven-years-old.
After his recent arrest, police presented the suspect before the District Court which remanded him in custody for investigation.
Chaurasiya was earlier convicted of theft and jailed for 18 months two years ago.
Police said he faces theft, hostage-taking, rape and murder charges.
