KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 13

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 824,535 on Monday with 313 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 807,154 with 376 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,557 with three fatalities.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,824 against 5,890 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 13,236 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,416 were PCR tests while 2,820 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,725,194 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 28 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 341.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 97 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 112 cases in the country. Lalitpur is second in line with 35 cases while Bhaktapur has 25 cases today.

So far, a total of 20,759,054 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 11,457,035 have received the first dose while only 9,302,019 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

As many as 187,664 people received Covid-19 vaccine today alone.

Globally, over 270 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 5.3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 243 million people have recovered while more than 22 million cases are still active.
