KATHMANDU, JANUARY 26

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 89,941 on Friday as 4,807 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 944,074 while the death toll reached 11,697 as 10 fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 842,436 with 5,432 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 19,869 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 13,791 were PCR tests while 6,078 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,199,495 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 2,020 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 6,827.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 89.2%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 139 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
