Red Cross rebuilds 80 classrooms

The Nepal Red Cross Society in Lamjung has reconstructed 80 classrooms in19 schools damaged by the 2015 earthquakes in different places of the district, according to statistics made public at the district’s 30th district assembly conference organised in Besisahar today.
Chairperson of the society’s Lamjung branch Narayan Prasad Ghimire said that as many as 80 classrooms of 19 schools in nine VDCs were reconstructed in coordination with the Education Ministry and the Red Cross Society Central Office.
He said that the programme was run with the financial assistance of the Danish and French Red Cross Societies.
Ghimire said that while 60 of the classrooms in 13 schools in eight VDCs were in the process of being reconstructed, 20 classrooms in eight schools have already been reconstructed. As many as 2,200 students will reportedly benefit from the reconstruction work.
