Nepal safe for tourists, says Munich mayor
Dhulikhel, November 6:
The Mayor of Gilching (Munich), Germany, Thomas Reich, has said Nepal is safe for tourists.
Thomas, who is here to acquire information on the health projects run by German ‘Namaste Stiftung’ in Kavre’s Dhulikhel and Bolde Phediche, told this daily today: “Nepal’s internal conflict has not harmed the tourists. Nepal is a safe tourist destination.”
“New York maybe more dangerous than Nepal,” Thomas said, expressing his displeasure with the US travel advisory warning.
He said the tourists could go around Nepal without a worry and there was no truth behind the news being spread by the foreign media on Nepal.
President of the Namaste Stiftung, Horst Schmel, said: “When I arrive in Nepal, I feel I have come home. The tourists face no problems here.” Horst’s wife, Ursala, said Nepal’s natural beauty and Nepali hospitality had touched their heart.
