Nepal Telecom services disrupted in Nuwakot and Rasuwa

NUWAKOT: The service of Nepal Telecom has been disrupted in Nuwakot and Rasuwa since Wednesday afternoon.

Due to a technical problem in the main optical fibre connected from Galchhi of Dhading, the pre-paid, post-paid, and PSTN phone services, as well as the internet service of the Telecom have been disrupted in the two districts since 3:00 pm on Wednesday.

Consumers in Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts have been deprived of the communication services because the problem has not been fixed even after the extended period of disconnection.

Technician who arrived this morning from Pokhara is trying to fix the problem that has been detected in the fibre around Ratmate in Belkotgadi Municipality-7 of Nuwakot, said Shyam Kanta Chaudhary, Chief of Nuwakot-based Nepal Telecom office.

Chaudhary added that the responsibility of repairs and maintenance of the optical fibre has been given to a private company. Though Kathmandu would have been closer for repair works, the delay in detecting and fixing the problem has occurred because they had to wait for the technician to arrive from the private company in Pokhara.
