Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma stressed that Nepal Telecom should provide high quality and effective services to the people.

In an interaction by Nepal Telecom Provincial Directorate Madhes Province in Bara's Simara today, Sharma, who is also the government spokesperson, stressed the importance of Nepal Telecom delivering high-quality and effective services.

With 88 per cent government investment, Minister Sharma stressed that NTC should focus on ensuring customer satisfaction to sustain its business in the communication sector.

The government spokesperson also emphasised the significance of effective government services that have a positive impact on the public.

Minister Sharma highlighted the current government's commitment to making services more people-friendly.

Sharma asserted that communication services are a basic right of the public, and even those in rural areas should not be deprived of these services. She urged Nepal Telecom to make their services easily accessible to all.

Additionally, Minister Sharma shared the ministry's plans to upgrade and expand Telecom's network and infrastructure nationwide by 2023. The government aims to provide free internet services in community schools across the country and extend services to the ward offices of rural municipalities.

During the programme, Minister Sharma also called on the Telecom's management committee and employees to work diligently.
