Employees of the Nepalgunj Municipality today padlocked the main gate of the office seeking suspension of Administrative Officer, Mohan Hamal and Accountant, Bhupati Khatri, of the municipality.

Nepal Municipality Employees’ Association, Nepalgunj unit and Nepalgunj Municipality Employees’ Union have accused the duo of playing a major role in suppressing the historical Jana Andolan.

They also accused the duo along with Nepalgunj Mayor Bipin Shrestha, of committing irregularities in many projects.

Chairman of the union, Krishna Prasad Joshi, said the padlock and strike would continue until Hamal and Khatri are suspended and investigation process against them is initiated. “Hamal, Khatri and Mayor Shrestha have committed irregularities of thousand of rupees of which we are ready to provide evidences,” the municipality staffers said, adding, “we will continue our stir until action is taken against them.”
