Nepali Ambassador to Korea, Singh, and DG Ryu Jeong-hyun meet

KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Nepal to the Republic of Korea Arjun Jung Bahadur Singh on Wednesday held a courtesy meeting with Ryu Jeong-hyun, Director General, South Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the latter's Office in Seoul.

During the meeting, matters related to enhancing bilateral relations and further strengthening cooperation between two countries in areas such as energy, trade, tourism, agriculture, education, infrastructure etc. were discussed.

On the occasion, Ambassador Singh requested for more support and positive consideration of the Government of the Republic of Korea towards increment of labour quota to Nepal and promoting welfare of Nepali nationals working in Korea, reads a press release issued by Nepali Embassy in Seoul.

Earlier, Ambassador Singh also underscored the importance of exchange of high level visits between two countries to upgrade the status of relations and deepen the mutual cooperation.

He further expressed the willingness of the Government of Nepal to welcome the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea very soon in Kathmandu at any dates convenient to both sides.

Similarly, Director General Ryu agreed on the need for regular holding of the meetings between two countries and mentioned that the Republic of Korea was willing to hold the next meeting of Bilateral Consultation Mechanism in Korea this year.

He also expressed his full support to further consolidate the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and wished the Ambassador for his successful tenure with assurance of full cooperation from his side, reads the release.
