NC, CPN-UML unveil commitment letter

Jhapa, June 15

Nepali Congress Bhadrapur Election Committee today unveiled a 67-point commitment letter meant for the second phase of the civic polls in Jhapa.

Unveiling the commitment letter, the NC’s mayoral candidate for Bhadrapur Municipality Ganesh Pokhrel said that his party was planning to develop Bhadrapur as the key trade hub of the eastern region, besides maintaining peace, beauty and prosperity of the city. Education, health, communication and environment conservation, among others, have been incorporated in the commitment.

Meanwhile, Bhadrapur mayoral candidate of the CPN-UML Jeevan Kumar Shrestha also presented a 31-point commitment letter besides clarifying his candidacy at the municipality. UML’s Bhadrapur Election Mobilisation Committee Coordinator Pushpa Raj Pokhrel unveiled the letter that has incorporated the development of road, drinking water, sewage management, health and security, among others, of the municipality.

Four women and a man are contesting the civic polls for the post of deputy mayor at Mechinagar Municipality of Jhapa. Durga Khatiwada from NC, Meena Pokhrel Upreti from UML, Indira Karki from CPN-MC, Sabina Bajgain from RPP and Agni Maya Meche from Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal and Gokul Humagain from Naya Shakti Nepal.
