Nepali Congress Doti has finalised candidates for all local bodies in Doti and Udayapur districts for the second phase of civic polls.

Nepali Congress Doti President Pradip Deuba said the party had finalised all the candidates for the nine local levels in the district.

Bijay Khadka and Prasis Mahara have been picked as mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates for Dipayal-Silgadi Municipality from the NC. Sitaram Joshi and Dhauladevi Rawal are the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates for Sikhar Municipality.

The party has picked Dipak Bista and Kalpana Ojha as chair and vice-chair candidates at Jorayal Rural Municipality. Krishna Bahadur Chand, Dil Bahadur Bam and Lokendra Shahi are contenders of the chairs at Bogtan, Badikedar Rural Municipality and Dr KI Singh Rural Municipality respectively from the NC.

Similarly, Dharma Joshi and Purnamaya Bista are contesting the polls for the post of chair and deputy chair at Sayal Rural Municipality. Ram Prasad Upadhyay and Laxman Singh are the party candidates for the post of chair at Purbi Chauki and Adarsha Rural municipalities.

NC Udayapur Publicity department chief Madanraj Katuwal said that the centre had picked the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates for the municipalities while the district had finalised all the candidates for rural municipalities and wards of the municipalities.

Basant Basnet and Devi Chaudhary are the party’s contenders for mayor and deputy mayor for Triyuga Municipality. Similarly, Gyanenddraman Singh and Saraswoti Dhungana are contesting the polls as the party’s mayoral and deputy mayoral candidate at Katari Municipality. Ashok Karki and Dipa Rai are mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates at Chaudhandi Municipality. At Belaka Municipality, Kaji Rai and Samjhana Rai have been chosen as candidates for the post of mayor and deputy mayor in Udayapur.
