NC Kaski unveils poll commitment
Pokhara, November 5
Nepali Congress Kaski today unveiled a 20-point commitment paper for overall development of the district in view of the forthcoming provincial and parliamentary elections.
As per the paper made public at a press meet today, development of agriculture, tourism, water resources and infrastructure are highlighted for a prosperous Kaski.
Three candidates for the parliamentary election and six candidates for provincial election from the district were present on the occasion.
Parliamentary election candidate from Constituency No 1 Yagya Thapa underscored the need of democratic forces to be united at a time when their rival left alliance was attempting to change the system if they won two-thirds majority seats in the forthcoming election.
Dev Raj Chalise, candidate for the parliamentary election from Constituency No 2 of the district, said that communist forces, which were trying to impose authoritarianism through bullet were now trying to do so through the ballot. “Hence, the victory of democratic forces was a must to avert another movement,” said Chalise.
Meanwhile, the candidate for parliamentary elections from Constituency No 3 of Kaski Shukraraj Sharma underscored the need to developing Province 4, including Pokhara, as religious tourism sites. “If we can develop Kailash Mansarovar, Muktinath and Pashupatinath linking them together as religious sites, we can welcome thousands of foreign tourists in the country every year. We can develop Pokhara, especially in the field of tourism, agriculture, as a religious site and also its water resources, among others,” he said.
All six NC candidates: Jeevan Pariyar, Krishna KC, Bindu Kumar Thapa, Guru Baral, Bhoj Bahadur Gurung and Sharada Poudel, who are vying for provincial polls from Kaski expressed commitment to the overall development of the district.
