Jhapa, October 24

Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula today said he would contest parliamentary polls from Jhapa Constituency No 3 under the first-past-the-post system in the upcoming polls slated for December 7 in the second phase.

Sitaula made this announcement in Bhadrapur, Baniyani, Prithvinagar and Barhadashi of the district. While a rumour is doing round that Sitaula’s name has been incorporated in the proportional representation list.

Sitaula declared he would contest the polls as an FPTP candidate. Sitaula, who was elected from Constituency No 3 three times, said he would not accept the party’s decision to keep him in the PR list.

Sitaula said he would not contest the polls simply to become a parliament member or a minister but to make the party active.
