Rautahat CPN-UML and Nepali Congress have recommended candidates to the central committees to contest for the upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections in all four constituencies of the district.

NC has recommended single candidate for each of the four constituencies while UML has also named its candidates in each of the constituencies in the district. The name list of the prospective candidates has been sent to the central offices of the parties. NC district committee has recommended Krishna Prasad Yadav from constituency No 1, Mohammad Aaftab from 2, Sunil Yadav from 3 and Dev Prasad Timalsina from 4 to the central committee unanimously.

An influential leader of NC Mohammad Aaftab claimed that NC would win the elections in each of the constituencies. He further advised the central committee to address demands of the Madhes as the party had received support from the Madhesi people. NC Rautahat president Krishna Prasad Yadav said the candidates’ names have been sent to the central committee. “We will surely win the elections in all constituencies,” he added. Similarly, NC has also recommended as many as 130 candidates under Proportional Representation Electoral System.

Likewise, district secretary Laxman Regmi said the party has also recommended the party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal from constituency 1, Sailendra Sah from 2, Dr Bansidhar Mishra, Basu Chaudhary, Kamal Raya Yadav, Kalyani Khadka from 3 and Nepal and Ram Kumar Bhattarai from constituency 4.
