NC wins in, CPN-UML strongholds in Bajura

Nepali Congress won in six local levels while CPN-UML won in three out of nine local levels in Bajura in the second round of local level elections.

The NC won in Budhiganga, Tribeni, Badimalika and Budhinanda Municipalities.

The entire NC panel had won in the municipalities except the post of deputy mayor of Budhiganga Municipality. Similarly, the UML won elections in three rural municipalities, while the NC won two out of five.

The UML won in Gaumul, Pandavgufa and Swamikartik, while the NC won in Himali and Chededaha Rural Municipalities.

It was said the UML had influence in Badimalika, Budhinanda and Budhiganga municipalities and Himali Rural Municipality, but the NC won the elections there.

The local level election has transfigured the parties’ influence. The UML could not win the election even in one municipality in Bajura. UML leaders and cadres were sad after the party lost its strongholds. The NC won 34, UML 32 and CPN-Maoist Centre won three of the local levels.
