Nepali gurus urge HSEB to review its move

Kathmandu, June 28:

Members of the Higher Education Nepali Subject Committee (HENSC) have decided to put pressure on the Higher Education Academic Council to review its decision to remove Nepali from the curriculum of grade 11. During a meeting held today, the committee also decided to submit a memorandum to Nagendra Bahadur Thapa, vice-chairman of the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), to review the decision and boycott the programmes organised by the HSEB if the latter paid no heed to its demand. Meanwhile, students of Nepali subject at the Tribhuvan University have formed a Struggle Committee for the Protection of Nepali language.
