Nepali scientist joins NASA
Kanchanpur, February 11:
Rajendra Bhatta (30) has become the first Nepali scientist to join the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the US agency responsible for the country’s space programmes.
Bhatta, a resident of Bhimdutta Municipality-4, has been selected as Satellite Calibration Scientist by the Virginia-based organisation. The news came to light after Bhatta telephoned his family members in Nepal to inform them about his selection.
Bhatta holds a master degree in engineering from Dakota University and a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from Pulchowk Engineering Campus.
Before leaving for US, Bhatta worked with Nepal Airlines Corporation for two years. After his achievement came to light, people are flocking to his home to congratulate his family.
