KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 11
Nepali workers abroad who have not obtained a labor permit will now be able to regularize their status by acquiring one.
Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Sharatsingh Bhandari, announced that the Ministry has decided to issue labor permits to these workers, setting September 2024 as the cutoff date.
To obtain the new labor permit, workers must register their biometrics, which may pose a challenge in countries where some diplomatic missions lack the necessary facilities.
Minister Bhandari emphasized that both the respective diplomatic missions and Nepali organizations abroad will be mobilized to facilitate workers' participation in the labor permit process.
