Dhangadi, July 31

Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist party of Nepal cadres seized land and houses belonging to different individuals and organisations in Bardagoriya Rural Municipality, Kailali, today.

The land and houses were captured in the name of Tharuwan Autonomous Province Bardagoriya People’s Council Nepal. Banners that read ‘land seized’ were kept near the seized land. The Chand-led party cadres also hoisted flags on the captured land.

The party seized 43 bigha and 17 kathha land belonging to seven individuals at the local level. The seized land and houses belong to Rajendra Malla, Bir Bahadur Malla, Dev Bahadur Malla, and the Far-western Rural Development Bank.

The party has warned of physical action if the seized land is sold.

Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal Kailali District Committee member Prakash Khadka said the people’s council had seized the land in line with the party’s policy.
