BAJURA: A new born was found dead in Bhaunerako River in Badimalika Municipality-2 of Bajura district on Tuesday.

The locals informed police that a new born's body was found trapped in a fishing net planted in the river by them to catch fish.

Meanwhile, the mother of the new born baby has been traced and taken into police custody following an order from the Bajura district court. It is yet to be ascertained whether the mother is involved in the incident.

The baby has been cremated, informed DSP Hari Bahadur Oli of District Police Office, Bajura.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
