POKHARA, MAY 11
The Gandaki Province government has made changes in the Province Government Portfolio Division. The new work division of the ministries was published in the Province Gazette today.
Spokesperson of Gandaki Province Government and Minister without portfolio Sarswati Aryal Tiwari said a decision was taken to that end for new adjustment as the prior work division of the ministries was not appropriate.
As per the new division, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law has been merged with the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.
Now onwards, the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers will oversee the portfolios of law and order, disaster management, province assembly affairs, law and communications.
Likewise, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water and Ministry of Agriculture and Land Management have been formed by dividing the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources.
However, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management and Ministry of Social Development and Health have been kept intact.
Earlier, the number of ministries was downsized from 12 to seven.
Tiwari said the Cabinet expansion of Gandaki Province would get full shape soon as the work division of the ministry was settled now.
