Senior-most lawmaker Arjun Narsingh KC to administer oath at Singha Durbar

Newly elected members of the House of Representatives (HoR) are set to take the oath of office and secrecy today.

Senior-most member Arjun Narsingh KC will administer the oath to fellow lawmakers at 2:00 pm, according to Federal Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri. KC was sworn in by Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the newly constructed multi-purpose hall in Singha Durbar.

A total of 47 lawmakers have registered to take the oath in their mother tongues, with 17 opting for Maithili, the Secretariat said.

In the March 5 elections, the Rastriya Swatantra Party emerged as the largest party with 182 seats, followed by the Nepali Congress with 38 seats and the CPN-UML with 25 seats.
