Night-time curfew order issued at Bhimdatta Municipality

BHIMDATTANAGAR: The District Administration in Kanchanpur has decided to impose a curfew in Bhimdattanagar tonight.

According to Kanchanpur District Administration Office, the curfew which shall remain into force from 6:00 pm today to 5:00 am tomorrow is ordered at various places of wards 4, 6 and 18 of Bhimdatta Municipality.

Prior to this, the local administration had issued a curfew order here from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm today. However, a meeting of the District Coordination Committee that concluded a while ago agreed to change the schedule of curfew, informed Chief District Officer, Taranath Adhikari.

Mahendranagar Bazaar has remained open following the decision to reschedule the curfew. Educational institutions, however, have remained closed.

The local administration clamped a curfew from Friday following the tense situation after a 14-year-old boy was killed in police firing during people's protest against the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta of Kholti in Bhimdatta Municipality-2 last month.
