KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 30

A 16 year old Sherpa climber set the world record successfully scaling Mt Manaslu this morning.
"Nima Rinji Sherpa from Sangkhuwasabha reached the true summit of Mt Manaslu becoming the youngest person in the world to have achieved such feat," officials from the Department of Tourism who stationed at the base camp confirmed.
Nima Rinji is the youngest son of record holding climber Tashi Lakpa Sherpa.
Tashi Lakpa who has been handling Seven Summit Treks and 14 Peaks Expeditions from the base camp also confirmed that his son made it to the summit point at around 9:20 am.

"He made it in age of 16 years old," Sherpa said, adding that Nima Rinji along with Manish Maharjan, Pemba Thinduk Sherpa and Nurbu sherpa scaled the 8163-metre peak.
Nima Rinji who is perusing his bachelors study in Kathmandu has trained himself in rock climbing and other adventure sports activities, according to Tashi Lakpa.
