DAMAK: As many as nine persons including two infants, of two families, were taken ill after they consumed poisonous mushrooms in Kamal Municipality of Jhapa district on Thursday night.

The members of a family who were taken ill have been identified as Bishnu Ghimire (33), Salina Ghimire (14), Sandhya Ghimire (10), Soni Ghimire ( 7)  and Sonika Ghimire (2) of Kamal Municipality-4. Another family members who were taken ill are Uma Ghatani (28), Indra Ghatani (11), Chandra Ghatani (9) and Sabina Ghatani (2).

The members of both families were taken ill after consuming mushrooms found near their houses last night,  according to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Limbu at the Damak-based Area Police Office identified

Meanwhile, all of them are receiving treatment at the Noble Hospital in Biratnagar of Morang district.
