DAMAULI: A child died after a taxi met with an accident, severely injuring him, in Ghansikuwa VDC-3, Tanahun, on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Sushil Bhandari, a nine-month-old son of Narayani Bhandari, of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City in neighbouring Kaski district.

Police said that the taxi (Ga 1 Ja 2453) en route to Damauli from Dumre got into an accident on the roadside, injuring six people, after one of its tyres suddenly got removed.

The infant breathed his last at the Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara, while undergoing treatment for his injuries, informed the District Police Office, Tanahun.
