KATHMANDU, JULY 22

A total of nine road sections have been completely disrupted due to floods, landslides, and other reasons, while 159 road sections have been operating one-way in the past 24 hours.

According to statistics released by the Department of Roads, the Dumre-Beshisahar-Chame, Tansen-Ridi-Korala, and Pushpalal (Mid-Hill Highway) sections in Baglung, Doti, and other areas have been completely blocked. The Department stated that it is coordinating with security personnel to remove landslide debris where traffic movement has been halted.

The Department has advised against traveling at night during the monsoon due to the high risk of landslides and floods.

Similarly, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology indicated the possibility of light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and a few places in other provinces within the next 24 hours.

Heavy rainfall is predicted in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The Department has urged residents in these areas to remain highly alert and take necessary precautions in view of the risk of monsoon-induced disasters.
