'No alternative to taking oath in Nepali'

DHANGADHI: CPN-UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal today said Vice President Paramandnda Jha had no alternative to taking fresh oath of office and secrecy in Nepali language.

Talking to mediapersons at a press conference organised by the Kailali chapter of Press Chautari Nepal here, Khanal said, “Since the SC verdict is line with the interim constitution, the VP should abide by it.”

Blaming UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of instigating the VP, Khanal said, “Irrespective of whatever anybody says, responsible leaders should move ahead as per the demand of the nation.”

Stating that the political parties were not effortful to end the long-stayed political deadlock, Khanal said, “The extreme leftists are not concerned about the future of the nation. The rightists don’t want an agreement. Both are contributing to turning the nation to a failed state.”

“All the parties should focus on writing the constitution, rather than forming another government.” he added.

The UML chairperson revealed that a new agreement would be reached before Dashain.
