KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 05

The Nepali Congress-led coalition government does not have any concrete plan to provide booster shots to those who are fully vaccinated, especially the elderly, and those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Assistant Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population Samir Kumar Adhikari said that the expert committee had not taken a decision on booster shots. He said once the expert committee took a decision, it would be okayed by the advisory committee, following which the ministry would take the final decision.

According to the ministry data, only 8.3 million people have received both doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
