No headway in talks with Tarai outfits

KATHMANDU: The second round of talks between the government talks-team and four armed Tarai outfits today ended inconclusively. The talks were held between the coordinators of the outfits and a government talks team led by Rakam Chemjong, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, at the ministry. The next round of talks is scheduled for tomorrow. The outfits sitting for talks with the government are Madheshi Mukti Tigers, Tarai Samyukta Janakranti Party, Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Rajan Mukti faction) and Madheshi Virus Killers. The groups have demanded to implement the agreements made with erstwhile government.

The four outfits had announced their working alliance a few days ago after the government made public its special security programme aiming to control the activities of different armed outfits those active in the Tarai.
