NOC provides employment to acid attack survivors

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 21

Oil Corporation has provided jobs to two women who survived acid attack.

The NOC provided the job for one year under its corporate social responsibility. The beneficiaries are Pabitra Karki from Okhaldhunga and Basanti Pariyar from Nawalparasi.

They were provided jobs from December 31. It is believed that the jobs would help sustain their life.

Karki and Pariyar who suffered the worst due to the acid attack were living in psychosocial fear. They had come into contact with the NOC. Both of them had poor family backgrounds and their physique had been weakened due to the attack.

In this backdrop, they had applied seeking assistance to be able to manage their daily life and regular medicine supply. The NOC was also informed of their academic qualification for jobs to match it.

NOC Spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyay informed that the assistance would help them boost confidence to restore a socially dignified life. The NOC has decided to pay them Rs 20,000 per month salary for a year.
