Nomination filing enthusiastic for upcoming polls: EC
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission on Sunday said filing of nominations by the candidates representing from various political parties and those contesting as independent candidates in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies has completed in 32 districts in a peaceful and enthusiastic atmosphere.
The nomination is for the first past the post (FPTP) category of election.
Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav in a press meet organised at the EC office informed that the candidacy registration process remained largely enthusiastic.
The election to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies is taking place in 32 districts on November 26 and in the remaining 45 districts on December 7 this year.
The nomination process began from 10 am and concluded at 5:00 pm Sunday as per the election schedule.
The EC's preliminary update said over 450 leaders from various parties registered their candidacies for the elections.
