BIRGUNJ, MARCH 21
At a time when most coalition partners are claiming that the existing alliance will continue until the local elections, a leader of one of the coalition partners has hinted that contesting election by forming alliance everywhere will be difficult.
"Contesting election by forming alliance everywhere is not possible. We will form alliance wherever possible and fight separately at other places," he said, speaking at a party programme in Birgunj today.
"In fact, we are capable of fighting election all by ourselves," he went on to add.
On a different note, the JSP-N leader accused the prime minister of delaying implementation of past agreements.
"Congress is a party ready to make any deal or agreement before acceding to the government. Once it's in power, it, however, forgets all of its past agreements," he said, alleging that PM Sher Bahadur Deuba delayed implementing the agreements on citizenship act amendment, constitution amendment, and proportional representation based on population in the state mechanism.
The JSP-N leader also criticised communist parties in Nepal for lacking communist character. "They are communist only in name, their character is different.
As for UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, he is a follower of former king Mahendra," he said.
Yadav also stressed the need to change the existing election system for fully proportional system, saying the present system was too expensive. "If the election system is fully proportional, we won't need money to contest and win," said Yadav.
Lokatantrik Samajbadi Party's Rajeshman Singh formally joined the JSP-N. Besides Yadav, other major leaders of the party including JSP-N Federal Council Chairperson Baburam Bhattarai and Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut welcomed Singh to the party. Besides Singh, a huge group of youths also entered the party, leaving their former parties.
