Biratnagar, August 6:

Police today arrested Shambhu Yadav, a member of a gang involved in extorting money from businessmen in the Nepal-India border area. Yadav is said to be a member of the gang led by a notorious Indian criminal, Dhirendra Yadav.

Police said Yadav was wanted for dozens of murders, abductions and extortion. Indian police were also on the lookout for him. Yadav has been kept in police custody and a probe is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogendra Katuwal. He said that Yadav has confessed to having extorted money from several Biratnagar businessmen.
