CHITWAN: National Planning Commission Vice-chairperson Dr Yubraj Khatiwada on Friday said his office was prepared to start preparatory works for post-quake reconstruction.

Speaking to journalists Bageshwori of Chitwan on Friday, Khatiwada said quake victims would soon get the cash relief announced by the government.

“Reconstruction works will be taken ahead in line with the decisions of the Cabinet,” he said, adding that preparations to set up community shelters for the quake victims in view of the approaching winter were under way.

“It is not possible for the government to build shelters for all the quake victims before winter, but it will try to cover as many victims as possible,” he said.
