NPU denounces police attack on journalist Dhakal
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Press Union has condemned the police attack on journalist Prakash Dhakal.
Dhakal was injured when the police baton-charged him while covering the report about protest enforced by students of Prithvi Narayan Campus in Pokhara over the death of a college student on Tuesday.
An alliance of democratic journalists also demanded free medical treatment for injured Dhakal, job and physical security for journalists, and a commitment from the police to not repeat such incident, read a statement issued by the NPU today.
Dhakal is a member of the NPU and associated with Pokhara-based Adarsha Samaj Dainik.
