NRN to construct 1,000 houses in quake-hit districts

KATHMANDU: Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Shesh Ghale held a consultation with the acting Chief District Officer and other government officials of Sindhupalchok – one of the quake-worst-hit districts – regarding post-quake reconstruction plan.

The NRNA, which is making a preparation to construct 1,000 houses in quake-rattled districts, called on the senior government officials of Sindhupalchok with a plan to select sites for houses construction.

On the occasion, NRNA chief Ghale shared that an agreement was signed with the Department of Urban Development and Housing to complete the construction of 1,000 houses within coming two years and inquired with the government officials where and how NRNA could put its post-quake interventions in Sindhupalchok district.

Acting Chief District Officer Bharat Prasad Acharya urged the organisation to reach out its efforts to the far-flung areas of the district to the possible extent.

The NRNA has floated a plan to construct 1,000 houses in quake-hit districts at the total cost of Rs 350 million.
