NRNs acclaim govt

KATHMANDU: Non-Resident Nepalis living in the USA have hailed the government's decision to appoint folk singer and artiste Prem Raja Mahat as Consul General for Pennsylvania and Maryland states. They have also welcomed Dr Shankar Sharma, Nepalese Ambassador to the States. According to the International Nepali Literary Society (INLS), envoy Sharma handed over the appointment letter to Mahat at a programme organised by America-Nepal Society, Virginia. Poet Gyanendra Gadal, president INLS said that the government had taken a good step and that would help promote Nepalese culture in the US.
