NRNs seek voting rights
New Delhi, January 4:
Non-resident Nepali organisations, claiming that the Nepali parliament has deprived them of casting votes in the constituent assembly polls, are set to stage an agitation.
The All-India Nepali Unity Society affiliated to the CPN-Mashal will stage demonstrations in various countries from January 7.
Other non-resident Nepali organisations, demanding voting rights and candidacy on the basis of proportional representation, are saying that the decision of parliament should be withdrawn.
General secretary of the Nepali People’s Contact Committee (India) affiliated to Nepali Congress, Yadav Ghimire, in a statement today, opposed the decision of the House of Representatives.
