NSP-A chief trying to foil convention, says Mahato
Birgunj, September 12:
Nepal Sadbhavana Party (A) vice-chairman Rajendra Mahato today accused party chairperson Anandidevi of trying to defer the special convention to cling on to power.
Mahato, who is also the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, said Hridayesh Tripathi is preparing to launch another party.
Replying to a query on the shortage of petroleum products, he said the Nepal Oil Corporation
“is incurring a loss of Rs 300 million a month” and that the price of petroleum products should be reviewed with an agreement of the eight parties.
General-secretary of the party Shyam Sundar Gupta, who is hell-bent on foiling the convention, arrived here this evening.
Meanwhile, a dominant faction of the party has called its central committee meeting on Monday. This was announced in Kathmandu today coinciding with a preparatory meeting for a general convention called by another faction, some of whose members were expelled last week.
General-secretary Shyam Sundar Gupta said they have decided to convene a central committee meet to fix a date for a national convention.
