NSP (A) for formation of another CDC
Kathmandu, April 17:
Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandi Devi) today demanded formation of yet another commission to delimit parliamentary constituencies.
In a press statement here today, the party expressed its dissatisfaction over the suggestions made by the Parliamentary Constituency Delimitation Commission (CDC).
Conceding that the recommendations made by the outgoing commission were based on population growth in the Tarai region, the party lamented the way the commission has ignored the cultural and communal sentiments of the Tarai people.
The statement alleged that the suggestions made by the commission has retained the stranglehold of the people from the hills.
“Given the way the suggestions have been made, it is likely that the hills still enjoy supremacy over the people of Tarai. At least that appears to be the motive behind the latest report,” the statement said.
