NSP-A to spearhead Madhes stir

Biratnagar, November 2:

Leader of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party-Anandidevi (NSP-A) and former minister Rajendra Mahato said today that his party will spearhead a peaceful agitation in the Tarai region from mid-November.

Speaking to reporters here, Mahato said a united front will be formed for the agitation, adding that the NSP-A will lead the agitation. Armed groups operating in the region will be included in the front, but the agitation will remain peaceful, he said.

Mahato said his party is holding talks with factions of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, Madhesi Tigers and other groups for the formation of the united front.

Mahato added that a special security brigade will be formed to prevent the agitation from turning communal or violent and rule out the infiltration of undesirable elements.
